Privacy Policy

Effective date: 23 May 2025

1. Who we are

Glass.app is a desktop note-taking application sold by Arkaprabha Chakraborty, a sole proprietor operating under Indian law.

Data controller: Arkaprabha Chakraborty
Contact: glass@webark.in

This policy applies to the website at https://glass.webark.in and the purchase flow. It does not apply to the Glass.app desktop app itself, which stores all your notes locally on your device and makes no network calls.

2. What data we collect and why

2.1 Purchase data

When you buy Glass.app we collect your email address for the sole purpose of delivering your download link. This is processed under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract).

Payment processing is handled by third-party providers:

We do not store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN, or any other sensitive payment credential. Razorpay and PayPal handle all payment data under their own PCI-DSS compliance.

2.2 Email delivery

Your email address is passed to Resend (Resend Inc., USA) solely to deliver the download link. Resend processes this data as a data processor acting on our behalf. See Resend's Privacy Policy.

We retain your email address for up to 2 years for transactional records and support purposes, after which it is deleted.

2.3 Analytics

With your consent, we use Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate website traffic (page views, referrers, device types). Vercel Analytics is designed to be privacy-friendly: it does not use cookies or fingerprint individual users. No personal data is linked to analytics events.

Legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) GDPR(consent). You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking “Decline” in the cookie banner or clearing your browser's local storage for this site.

2.4 Log data

Our hosting provider (Vercel Inc.) automatically logs standard HTTP request data (IP address, browser, timestamp) for security and reliability. These logs are retained for up to 30 days. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.

3. Cookies and local storage

This site does not place advertising or tracking cookies. We use the browser's local storage exclusively to remember your cookie consent choice. Vercel Analytics itself does not use cookies.

4. International data transfers

Some of our processors (Vercel, Resend) are based in the United States. Transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) under Article 46 GDPR, as maintained by each processor.

5. Your rights (EU/EEA residents)

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of your personal data we hold.
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data (“right to be forgotten”).
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest.
  • Withdraw consent — for analytics, at any time via the cookie banner.

To exercise any right, email glass@webark.in with the subject line “GDPR Request”. We will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (e.g., the ICO in the UK, or your EU member state's DPA).

6. No refunds

Glass.app is a digital product delivered immediately upon purchase. Under EU Consumer Rights Directive Article 16(m), consumers who have expressly consented to immediate delivery of digital content waive their right of withdrawal. By completing the purchase you acknowledge this.

If there is a technical problem with your download, contact glass@webark.in and we will resolve it promptly.

7. Children

Glass.app is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be noted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
